Movie. This word captivates me so much. In detail, I don't know since when did I really love movies. I don't even remember what movie I saw for the first time in my life. Since childhood, I've been very interested in movies. Movies give me a feeling that I have never felt before. Entertained for sure, but there are other things that I get after watching a movie. There was great curiosity, and something just got bigger and bigger and bigger until it swelled up. I'm crazy about them.
As long as I really try to remember this, maybe the first movie I watched was Journey To The Center Of The Earth (2008) when I was around 4 to 6 years old. The movie gave me some sweet memories. My father was the first to show it to me. That's where I like movies. I watch a lot of monster movies. From as good as Jurassic Park to as bad as SyFy movies, lol. Since then, all my life, I've always been doing searches on the internet. "The scariest horror movies", "The best horror movies", "the saddest horror movies", etc. I found various titles such as Hostel, Cannibal Holocaust, Scream, and others. However, I've never watched them because of limited gadgets and internet connection (it wasn't as sophisticated as it is now).
At the age of 12, I bought pirated cassettes (I'm so sorry, I still do it today but in a different way). I started watching Scream (1996), AND I LIKED IT, EVEN LOVED IT. Scream is very good, opens up my view of horror movies even wider. I began to deepen my knowledge about the world of horror movies. Then, because my area has been exposed to technological advances, it's easier for me to find lots of movies, but unfortunately I don't have any money. I downloaded movies illegally. I watch a lot of movies, not just horror. From there I was crazy about the world of movie. Anything about movies, I will watch, even TV shows showing the TOP 5 Box Office Weekend I will watch. I will give credit to the Entertainment News program on Net TV which always broadcasts special news about movies every Friday. I LOVE YOU, NET TV! YOU ARE ONE OF THE GREATEST THINGS IN MY LIFE!
Now, sadly, I still love movies, but in the wrong way. I always watch it, but illegally. I really want to subscribe to Netflix and other platforms, but my economy is tight, and my cellular data is expensive. I never go to the cinema. Cinemas in Indonesia are not evenly distributed. It's far away in the Provincial Capital. I've been there twice (even I can count because it's so rare), but never have time because it's a school trip. I hope that my love for movie will never fade, and I can shed all of my love in the right way.
Love,
Bayu Anggoro
